Barnes & Noble: Educator Appreciation Day Events!

Educator Appreciation Days is upon us!

October 7-15th educators will receive 25% off the list price on most books, gifts, and music and 10% off in the BN Kitchen when using their educator discount card.  Additionally, we will be holding a $1,000 Barnes & Noble Gift Card Sweepstakes – enter to win at our Educator Reception on Saturday, October 7 beginning at 10:00 am.  And that’s not all – educators will receive 10% off select Samsung NOOK tablets and the NOOK GlowLight (excluding the 7” NOOK tablet), and 10% off select Tech Tools.

At the reception on Saturday the 7th at 10am, we’ll have a drawing for other giveaways as well – including a Little Bits STEAM Student Set (a $300 value!)

Here’s a lowdown on our events:

Saturday, October 7

10-11 am         Meet Tammy Wilson, author of Through My Eyes. Tammy is a principal in St. Cloud and wrote her book in response to her experience with Somali refugees.  Join us for a talk and signing about this important topic.  Coffee and Croissants will be available and you’ll have a chance to sign up for our sweepstakes (the winner from our store will be pulled at the end of the week and sent on for the regional drawing)  and a Little Bits STEAM Student Set (must be present to win).

11:00 am         Bring the entire family to Educator Appreciation and meet the Poky Little Puppy at our costume character storytime at 11 am.

11:30 am         Meet Melissa Savage, author of the middle-grade novel, Lemons. Melissa will read and sign copies of her book – pick up a copy for your classroom or media center using your 25% discount!

2:00 pm           Meet Robert Beatty, author of the wildly popular middle-grade Serafina series.  Robert will be offering a free classroom set of the series to the first five teachers in the signing line who plan to teach one of the Serafina books in their class, and mention this special offer to the author at the event.  Robert will read from and sign copies of the third book in the series, Serafina and the Splintered Heart.  Bring the kids (there will be SWAG!)

4:00 pm           Join us for a Lego build event with Lego Ninjago.  We’ll display your creations in our kids department for the afternoon.

Don’t have an Educator Card?  Bring your school ID with you and we’ll issue you one on the spot! (It’s FREE!)
